Join the Tribe: The Tribe Collective

Kali-flower Bowl: Emerge
Being a member of a tribe sets you apart. For some, it's your ethnic background; your heritage and makeup. For others, your tribe is a gathering of likeminded individuals who share a common bond and interest. And still, for some, being a member of a tribe means bucking the system and going against the norm.

Tribe Collective (one of the newest #EatLafayette restaurants), located at 1321 W. Pinhook, combines three innovative concepts under one roof. Where else can you find an allergy sensitive bakery, juice bar/raw food restaurant and local coffee shop all under one roof?

Lafayette residents who recall the delicious flavors of Bibi's Patisserie will not be disappointed when they bite into the delicate baked goods of Mortar & Pestle. Now, with more than just baked goods to choose from, M&P cranks out sweet and savory lunch items that pair perfectly with their desserts. For breakfast or lunch vegans, vegetarians and carnivores alike can all find something on the menu they will enjoy.

Emerge Juice, formally Evolve Juice, who made a name for themselves locally thanks to their cold pressed juices that refreshed shoppers weekly at the Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market at the Horse Farm, share the space on the busy street corner. More than just juices, Emerge now offers fresh, raw bowls and wraps along with its cleansing juices.

Ask anyone behind the counter or in-and-out of the kitchen for advice or suggestions. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and eager to share with you. Tribe also serves Reve coffee. All baristas are Reve cafe trained; so you can trust that their skills are top notch.

In the land of plate lunches it's easy to be intimidated by a restaurant that touts a healthier cuisine. But these chefs know what they are doing. If you are apprehensive but are curious, try the Meatless Meatball Sandwich from Mortar & Pestle. The black bean "meatballs" taste like the real thing and the sandwich is a hearty meal.

From the moment you walk into Tribe, you feel like family. The staff is welcoming and the customers are often caught up in conversation with one another. Something just feels right. You feel like you belong. You feel like part of the tribe. You leave and you plan your next trip back. It's just that warm. It's just that welcoming. It's just that good.
